SHIHAN FLOYD BAPTISTE – 7TH DAN BLACK BELT

Shihan Floyd Baptiste is the driving force behind the success of Purple Dragon in the Cayman Islands, living and working in the beautiful Cayman Islands. He traveled with the Purple Dragon team to Japan, China, the USA, and Canada, to mention a few. He and his assistants are active in tournaments and teach Don Jitsu Ryu Karate and Karobics (Karate Aerobics).

SHIHAN GEDDES HISLOP – 6TH DAN BLACK BELT

He became a martial arts student at age 13, beginning with Judo, Shotokan Karate, and Aikido.

He began to study the Purple Dragon Don-Jitsu Ryu System in late 1985 and attained his first Black Belt in late 1989. He founded the Purple Dragon Cayman Islands dojo in the summer of 1990.

He traveled with Purple Dragon to the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean. He competed for Purple Dragon International and Purple Dragon Cayman Islands at several Grand Slams in Trinidad and Canadian Grand Slams in Vancouver. He also competed and placed in the top three at two US Opens in Orlando, Florida, and at the Capitol Classics in Washington, DC, in 2017. Twice, he was inducted into the Caribbean Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

SHIHAN DON FRANCIS – 7TH DAN BLACK BELT

Shihan Francis is always excited about the development of Purple Dragon in Antigua. He has traveled to the USA, China, and Japan with the Purple Dragon team.

The assistant instructor is the dependable Sensei Jahmoza Francis. Shihan Francis has been with Purple Dragon for over 25 years, and together with his assistant, they are a truly remarkable team on the island.

SENSEI SHAWN CLARKE – 5TH DAN BLACK BELT

Sensei Shawn has been training for over 26 years in Purple Dragon under Shihan Don Francis and the late Shihan Ivan Rodrigues and currently operates Purple Dragon St. Paul’s branch in Antigua. Sensei Shawn has participated in Purple Dragon Caribbean Grand Slams, US Open Championship, and Purple Dragon World Championships.

He has traveled to Trinidad & Tobago and the USA representing Purple Dragon Antigua.

SHIHAN BEVON BAPTISTE – 6TH DAN BLACK BELT

Shihan Bevon operates two Dojos in the BVI on Tortola and Virgin Gorda islands. Over the years, he’s traveled, trained, and competed in many countries, such as Canada, the USA, Japan, and the Caribbean.

His passion for teaching is displayed in his fun and exciting classes.
